Establishing the prayer and the sunnah regarding them
جمعہ کے خطبہ کا بیان
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver two sermons, and he would sit briefly between the two. (One of the narrators) Bishr added: “While he was standing.”
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دو خطبہ دیتے تھے، اور دونوں کے درمیان کچھ دیر بیٹھتے تھے۔ بشر بن مفضل نے اپنی روایت میں اضافہ کیا ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( خطبہ دیتے وقت ) کھڑے ہوتے۔
It was narrated from Ja’far bin ‘Amr bin Huraith that his father said: “I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering the sermon on the pulpit, wearing a black turban.”
عمرو بن حریث رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو منبر پہ خطبہ دیتے ہوئے دیکھا، اس وقت آپ کے سر پہ ایک کالا عمامہ تھا۔
It was narrated that Simak bin Harb said: “I heard Jabir bin Samurah say: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon standing, but he used to sit down briefly, then stand up.’”
جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ دیتے تھے، البتہ آپ ( دونوں خطبوں کے درمیان ) تھوڑی دیر بیٹھتے تھے، پھر کھڑے ہو جاتے تھے۔
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon standing, then he would sit down, then he would stand up and recite some Verses and remember Allah. His sermon was moderate, and his prayer was moderate (i.e., neither too long nor too short).”
جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ دیتے پھر بیٹھ جاتے، پھر کھڑے ہوتے اور قرآن کریم کی چند آیات تلاوت فرماتے اور اللہ کا ذکر کرتے، آپ کا خطبہ اور نماز دونوں ہی درمیانی ہوتے۔
‘Abdur-Rahman bin Sa’d bin ‘Ammar bin Sa’d narrated that his father told him, from his father, from his grandfather, that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivered a speech on the battlefield he would do so leaning on a bow, and when he delivered a sermon on Friday, he would do so leaning on his staff.
سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب میدان جنگ میں خطبہ دیتے تو کمان پر ٹیک لگا کر دیتے، اور جب جمعہ کا خطبہ دیتے تو چھڑی پر ٹیک لگا کر دیتے۔
‘Alqamah narrated that ‘Abdullah was asked whether the Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon standing or sitting. He said: “Have you not read the Verse: ‘...and leave you (Muhammad) standing (while delivering the Friday sermon?” [62:11]
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ان سے پوچھا گیا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیٹھ کر خطبہ دیتے تھے یا کھڑے ہو کر؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: کیا تم نے یہ آیت کریمہ نہیں پڑھی: «وتركوك قائما» جب ان لوگوں نے تجارت یا لہو و لعب دیکھا تو آپ کو کھڑا چھوڑ کر چل دیئے ( سورة الجمعة: 11 ) ۱؎۔ ابوعبداللہ ابن ماجہ کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث غریب ہے، اس کو صرف ابن ابی شیبہ ہی نے بیان کرتے ہیں۔
It was narrated from Jabir that whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) ascended the pulpit he would greet (the people with Salam).
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب منبر پر چڑھتے تو لوگوں کو سلام کرتے ۱؎۔
