Chapter 12 of 55 · 2 Hadith
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: A man peeped through a round hole into the dwelling place of the Prophet, while the Prophet had a Midray (an iron comb) with which he was scratching his head. the Prophet said, Had known you were looking (through the hole), I would have pierced your eye with it (i.e., the comb). Verily! The order of taking permission to enter has been enjoined because of that sight, (that one should not look unlawfully at the state of others). (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 7)

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A man peeped into a room of the Prophet. The Prophet stood up, holding an arrow head. It is as if I am just looking at him, trying to stab the man.

When you (want to) consult the Messenger (Muhammad) in private, spend something in charity before your private consultation. That will be better and purer for you. But if you find not (the means for it), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgivind, Most Merciful. Are you afraid of spending in charity before your private consultation (with him)? If then you do it not, and Allah has forgive you, then (at least) perform Salat (prayers) (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat and obey Allah (i.e., do all what Allah and His Prophet order you to do).
