اَلْکُوْبُ:پیالہ جس کا دستہ نہ ہو۔اس کی جمع اَکْوَابٌ آتی ہے۔قرآن پاک میں ہے: (بِاَکۡوَابٍ وَّ اَبَارِیۡقَ ۬ ۙوَ کَاۡسٍ مِّنۡ مَّعِیۡنٍ) (۵۶۔۱۸) یعنی آبخورے اور آفتابے اور صاف شراب کے گلاس۔اَلْکُوْبَۃُ: (ڈگڈگی) یعنی باریک میان طبلک جو تماشہ کے وقت مداری بجاتے ہیں۔
