And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.
اور ان کا قول لینے کے لئے ہم نے ان کے سروں پر طور پہاڑ لا کھڑا کر دیا اور انہیں حکم دیا کہ سجدہ کرتے ہوئے دروازے میں جاؤ اور یہ بھی فرمایا کہ ہفتہ کے دن میں تجاوز نہ کرنا اور ہم نے ان سے سخت سے سخت قول و قرار لئے ۔
And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.
اور آپ ان لوگوں سے اس بستی والوں کا جو کہ دریائے ( شور ) کے قریب آباد تھے اس وقت کا حال پوچھئے! جب کہ وہ ہفتہ کے بارے میں حد سے نکل رہے تھے جب کہ انکے ہفتہ کے روز تو ان کی مچھلیاں ظاہر ہو ہو کر ان کے سامنے آتی تھیں اور جب ہفتہ کا دن نہ ہوتا تو ان کے سامنے نہ آتی تھیں ، ہم ان کی اس طرح پر آزمائش کرتے تھے اس سبب سے کہ وہ بے حکمی کیا کرتے تھے ۔
