And [recall] when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights. Then you took [for worship] the calf after him, while you were wrongdoers.
اور ہم نے ( حضرت ) موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) سے چالیس راتوں کا وعدہ کیا پھر تم نے اس کے بعد بچھڑا پوجنا شروع کر دیا اور ظالم بن گئے ۔
قَالَ فَاِنَّا قَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَوۡمَکَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِکَ وَ اَضَلَّہُمُ السَّامِرِیُّ ﴿۸۵﴾
[ Allah ] said, "But indeed, We have tried your people after you [departed], and the Samiri has led them astray."
فرمایا! ہم نے تیری قوم کو تیرے پیچھے آزمائش میں ڈال دیا اور انہیں سامری نے بہکا دیا ہے ۔
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea; then they came upon a people intent in devotion to [some] idols of theirs. They said, "O Moses, make for us a god just as they have gods." He said, "Indeed, you are a people behaving ignorantly.
اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو دریا سے پار اتار دیا ۔ پس ان لوگوں کا ایک قوم پر گزر ہوا جو اپنے چند بتوں سے لگے بیٹھے تھے ، کہنے لگے اے موسیٰ! ہمارے لئے بھی ایک معبود ایسا ہی مقرر کر دیجئے! جیسے ان کے یہ معبود ہیں ۔ آپ نے فرمایا کہ واقعی تم لوگوں میں بڑی جہالت ہے ۔
