And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah ; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.
اور جب ہم نے بنی اسرائیل سے و عدہ لیا کہ تم اللہ کے سوا دوسرے کی عبادت نہ کرنا اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنا ، اسی طرح قرابتداروں ، یتیموں اور مسکینوں کے ساتھ اور لوگوں کو اچھی باتیں کہنا ، نمازیں قائم رکھنا اور زکوۃ دیتے رہا کرنا ، لیکن تھوڑے سے لوگوں کے علاوہ تم سب پھر گئے اور منہ موڑ لیا ۔
وَّ بِکُفۡرِہِمۡ وَ قَوۡلِہِمۡ عَلٰی مَرۡیَمَ بُہۡتَانًا عَظِیۡمًا ﴿۱۵۶﴾ۙ
And [We cursed them] for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander,
اور ان کے کفر کے باعث اور مریم پر بہت بڑا بہتان باندھنے کے باعث ۔
O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah 's cause] and [thus] become losers."
اے میری قوم والو! اس مقدس زمین میں داخل ہو جاؤ جو اللہ تعالٰی نے تمہارے نام لکھ دی ہے اور اپنی پشت کے بل روگردانی نہ کرو کہ پھر نقصان میں جا پڑو ۔
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
اور ( یاد کرو ) جبکہ موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم سے کہا اے میری قوم کے لوگو! تم مجھے کیوں ستا رہے ہو حالانکہ تمہیں ( بخوبی ) معلوم ہے کہ میں تمہاری جانب اللہ کا رسول ہوں پس جب وہ لوگ ٹیڑھے ہی رہے تو اللہ نے انکے دلوں کو ( اور ) ٹیڑھا کر دیا اور اللہ تعالٰی نافرمان قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا ۔
