(38) CHAPTER. The Prophet was neither a Fahish (one who speaks bad words) nor a Mutafahhish (one who speaks obscene evil words to make people laugh). آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سختگو اور بدزبان نہ تھے

Chapter 36 of The book of al-adab (good manners). in Sahih Bukhari. Each Hadith below carries its Arabic text, its Urdu and English translation, its number and its grading.

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ ، سَمِعْتُ مَسْرُوقًا ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو . ح وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو حِينَ قَدِمَ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ ، فَذَكَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : لَمْ يَكُنْ فَاحِشًا وَلَا مُتَفَحِّشًا وَقَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ مِنْ أَخْيَرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ خُلُقًا .
Narrated Masruq: Abdullah bin 'Amr mentioned Allah's Apostle saying that he was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahish. Abdullah bin 'Amr added, Allah's Apostle said, 'The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.'
ہم سے حفص بن عمر بن حارث ابوعمرو حوش نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ بن حجاج نے بیان کیا، ان سے سلیمان نے، انہوں نے ابووائل شقیق بن سلمہ سے سنا، انہوں نے مسروق سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا (دوسری سند) امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے کہا ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا، ان سے اعمش نے، ان سے شقیق بن سلمہ نے اور ان سے مسروق نے بیان کیا کہ جب معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص کوفہ تشریف لائے تو ہم ان کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے۔ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ذکر کیا اور بتلایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بدگو نہ تھے اور نہ آپ بدزبان تھے اور انہوں نے یہ بھی بیان کیا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم میں سب سے بہتر وہ آدمی ہے، جس کے اخلاق سب سے اچھے ہوں۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَامٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ يَهُودَ أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا : السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَنَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، قَالَ : مَهْلًا يَا عَائِشَةُ عَلَيْكِ بِالرِّفْقِ وَإِيَّاكِ وَالْعُنْفَ وَالْفُحْشَ قَالَتْ : أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ مَا قَالُوا ! قَالَ : أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعِي مَا قُلْتُ ، رَدَدْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيُسْتَجَابُ لِي فِيهِمْ ، وَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ فِيَّ .
Narrated `Abdullah bin Mulaika: `Aisha said that the Jews came to the Prophet and said, As-Samu 'Alaikum (death be on you). `Aisha said (to them), (Death) be on you, and may Allah curse you and shower His wrath upon you! The Prophet said, Be calm, O `Aisha ! You should be kind and lenient, and beware of harshness and Fuhsh (i.e. bad words). She said (to the Prophet), Haven't you heard what they (Jews) have said? He said, Haven't you heard what I have said (to them)? I said the same to them, and my invocation against them will be accepted while theirs against me will be rejected (by Allah).
ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو عبدالوہاب ثقفی نے خبر دی، انہیں ایوب سختیانی نے، انہیں عبداللہ بن ابی ملیکہ نے اور انہیں عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ کچھ یہودی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے یہاں آئے اور کہا «السام عليكم‏.‏» ( تم پر موت آئے ) اس پر عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا «عليكم،‏‏‏‏ ولعنكم الله،‏‏‏‏ وغضب الله عليكم‏.‏» کہ تم پر بھی موت آئے اور اللہ کی تم پر لعنت ہو اور اس کا غضب تم پر نازل ہو۔ لیکن نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، ( ٹھہرو ) عائشہ! تمہیں نرم خوئی اختیار کرنے چاہیے سختی اور بد زبانی سے بچنا چاہیئے۔ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ نے ان کی بات نہیں سنی، نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم نے انہیں میرا جواب نہیں سنا، میں نے ان کی بات انہیں پر لوٹا دی اور ان کے حق میں میری بددعا قبول ہو جائے گی۔ لیکن میرے حق میں ان کی بددعا قبول ہی نہ ہو گی۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى هُوَ فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : لَمْ يَكُنِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبابا وَلَا فَحَّاشًا وَلَا لَعَّانًا ، كَانَ يَقُولُ لِأَحَدِنَا عِنْدَ الْمَعْتِبَةِ : مَا لَهُ تَرِبَ جَبِينُهُ .
Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet was not one who would abuse (others) or say obscene words, or curse (others), and if he wanted to admonish anyone of us, he used to say: What is wrong with him, his forehead be dusted!
ہم سے اصبغ بن فرج نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھے عبداللہ بن وہب نے خبر دی انہوں نے کہا ہم کو ابویحییٰ فلیح بن سلیمان نے خبر دی، انہیں ہلال بن اسامہ نے بیان کیا اور ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نہ گالی دیتے تھے نہ بدگو تھے نہ بدخو تھے اور نہ لعنت ملامت کرتے تھے۔ اگر ہم میں سے کسی پر ناراض ہوتے اتنا فرماتے اسے کیا ہو گیا ہے، اس کی پیشانی میں خاک لگے۔

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُ قَالَ : بِئْسَ أَخُو الْعَشِيرَةِ وَبِئْسَ ابْنُ الْعَشِيرَةِ ، فَلَمَّا جَلَسَ تَطَلَّقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَانْبَسَطَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا انْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ ، قَالَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، حِينَ رَأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ قُلْتَ لَهُ : كَذَا وَكَذَا ، ثُمَّ تَطَلَّقْتَ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَانْبَسَطْتَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا عَائِشَةُ : مَتَى عَهِدْتِنِي فَحَّاشًا ، إِنَّ شَرَّ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَنْزِلَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ تَرَكَهُ النَّاسُ اتِّقَاءَ شَرِّهِ .
Narrated 'Aisha: A man asked permission to enter upon the Prophet. When the Prophet saw him, he said, What an evil brother of his tribe! And what an evil son of his tribe! When that man sat down, the Prophet behaved with him in a nice and polite manner and was completely at ease with him. When that person had left, 'Aisha said (to the Prophet). O Allah's Apostle! When you saw that man, you said so-and-so about him, then you showed him a kind and polite behavior, and you enjoyed his company? Allah's Apostle said, O 'Aisha! Have you ever seen me speaking a bad and dirty language? (Remember that) the worst people in Allah's sight on the Day of Resurrection will be those whom the people leave (undisturbed) to be away from their evil (deeds).
ہم سے عمرو بن عیسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن سواء نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے روح ابن قاسم نے بیان کیا، ان سے محمد بن منکدر نے، ان سے عروہ نے اور ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ایک شخص نے اندر آنے کی اجازت چاہی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے دیکھ کر فرمایا کہ برا ہے فلاں قبیلہ کا بھائی۔ یا ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ) کہ برا ہے فلاں قبیلہ کا بیٹا۔ پھر جب وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ بیٹھا تو آپ اس کے ساتھ بہت خوش خلقی کے ساتھ پیش آئے۔ وہ شخص جب چلا گیا تو عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے آپ سے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جب آپ نے اسے دیکھا تھا تو اس کے متعلق یہ کلمات فرمائے تھے، جب آپ اس سے ملے تو بہت ہی خندہ پیشانی سے ملے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اے عائشہ! تم نے مجھے بدگو کب پایا۔ اللہ کے یہاں قیامت کے دن وہ لوگ بدترین ہوں گے جن کے شر کے ڈر سے لوگ اس سے ملنا چھوڑ دیں۔

(11) CHAPTER. The sin of Al-Qati (the person who severs the blood of kinship).
قطعرحمی کرنے والے کا گناہ

(12) CHAPTER. Whoever was made wealthy because of keeping good relations with his kith and kin.
ناطہٰ والوں سے نیک سلوک کرنا رزق میں فراخی کا ذریعہ بنتا ہے

(13) CHAPTER. Allah will keep good relations with the one who will keep good relations with his kith and kin.
جو شخص ناطہٰ جوڑے گا اللہ تعالیٰ بھی اس سے ملاپ رکھے گا

(15) CHAPTER. Al-Wasil (the one who keeps good relations with his kith and kin) is not the one who recompenses the good done to him by his relatives.
آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فرمانا ناطہٰ اگر قائم رکھ کر تروتازہ رکھا جائے ( یعنی ناطہٰ کی رعایت کی جائے ) تو دوسرا بھی ناطہٰ کو تروتازہ رکھے گا ۔

(16) CHAPTER. Whosoever kept good relations with his kith and kin while he was a Mushrik (pagan) and then embraced Islam.
ناطہٰ جوڑنے کے یہ معنی نہیں ہیں کہ صرف بدلہ ادا کر دے

(17) CHAPTER. Whoever allowed a small girl of another person to play with him, or kissed her or had a joke with her.
جس نے کفر کی حالت میں صلہرحمی کی اور پھر اسلام لایا تو اس کا ثواب قائم رہے گا

(18) CHAPTER. To be merciful to one's children kiss them and embrace them.
بچے کے ساتھ رحم و شفقت کرنا ، اسے بوسہ دینا اور گلے سے لگانا

کوئی عورت اپنی پڑوسن کے لیے کسی چیز کے دینے کو حقیر نہ سمجھے

(33) CHAPTER. Enjoining all that is Al-Maruf (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) is considered as a Sadaqa (charitable gift).
جو اللہ اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان رکھتا ہو وہ اپنے پڑوسی کو تکلیف نہ پہنچائے

(33) CHAPTER. Enjoining all that is Al-Maruf (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) is considered as a Sadaqa (charitable gift).

(74) CHAPTER. Whoever does not consider as Kafir the person who says that (i.e., O Kafir), if he thinks that what he says is true, or if he is ignorant of the seriousness of such saying.
اگر کسی نے کوئی وجہ معقول رکھ کر کسی کو کافر کہا یا نادانستہ تو وہ کافر ہو گا ۔
