1 وَاِذَا And when اور جب 2 تُتْلٰى are recited پڑھی جاتی ہیں 3 عَلَيْهِ to him اس پر 4 اٰيٰتُنَا Our Verses ہماری آیات 5 وَلّٰى he turns away رخ پھیر لیتا ہے 6 مُسْتَكْبِرًا arrogantly تکبر کرتے ہوئے 7 كَاَنْ as if گویا کہ 8 لَّمْ not نہیں 9 يَسْمَعْهَا he (had) heard them اس نے سنا ان کو 10 كَاَنَّ as if گویا کہ 11 فِيْٓ in میں 12 اُذُنَيْهِ his ears اس کے دونوں کانوں 13 وَقْرًا (is) deafness بوجھ ہے 14 فَبَشِّرْهُ So give him tidings تو خوشخبری دے دو اس کو 15 بِعَذَابٍ of a punishment عذاب کی 16 اَلِيْمٍ painful دردناک
