Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
ان سے لڑو جب تک کہ فتنہ نہ مٹ جائے اور اللہ تعالٰی کا دین غالب نہ آجائے اگر یہ رک جائیں ( تو تم بھی رک جاؤ ) زیادتی تو صرف ظالموں پر ہی ہے ۔
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
جن لوگوں نے تم سے دین کے بارے میں لڑائی نہیں لڑی اور تمہیں جلا وطن نہیں کیا ان کے ساتھ سلوک و احسان کرنے اور منصفانہ بھلے برتاؤ کرنے سے اللہ تعالٰی تمہیں نہیں روکتا بلکہ اللہ تعالٰی تو انصاف کرنے والوں سے محبت کرتا ہے ۔
And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah . And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do.
اور تم ان سے اس حد تک لڑو کہ ان میں فساد عقیدہ نہ رہے ۔ اور دین اللہ ہی کا ہو جائے ، پھر اگر یہ باز آجائیں تو اللہ تعالٰی ان اعمال کو خوب دیکھتا ہے ۔
And it is not for the believers to go forth [to battle] all at once. For there should separate from every division of them a group [remaining] to obtain understanding in the religion and warn their people when they return to them that they might be cautious.
اور مسلمانوں کو یہ نہ چاہیے کہ سب کے سب نکل کھڑے ہوں سو ایسا کیوں نہ کیا جائے کہ ان کی ہر بڑی جماعت میں سے ایک چھوٹی جماعت جایا کرے تاکہ وہ دین کی سمجھ بوجھ حاصل کریں اور تاکہ یہ لوگ اپنی قوم کو جب کہ وہ ان کے پاس آئیں ڈرائیں تاکہ وہ ڈر جائیں ۔
